I am an individual reusing material to make pretty pieces. I think of mosaics as my craft. I do make mosaics that I feel are fine art, but I feel free to get as crafty as I want with my mosaics. Since creativity and building are foundational for me, I mosaic with anything from paper to stained glass and ceramics. I started making mini mosaics in 2023. I am now teaching a mini mosaic class about 3 times a year and I am making them consistently in any subject matter.

My students use shape templates of anything from fruit to birds, to anything else they can can think of during class. I usually use stained glass scraps to make any image. Sometimes the color of the glass makes me think of something or all of my students got into a fun idea and now that is inspiring to me.

I think of this art as a way to practice the craft and refine skills like cutting glass and grouting. This frees the artist to make any subject matter They want. It’s always fun to solve problems of what to be inspired by and how to cut the glass to fit different shapes.
